George Dwight Hearn

G. Dwight Hearn, 75, of Beaverdam, passed away on July 21, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was the son of the late Mason and Marian Hearn and was preceded in death by his devoted Grandmother, Kentucky Darling Hardin Yeamans. Dwight had a mathematical mind that brought him to his professional career as an Auditor with the Federal Reserve Bank, Virginia Power, and Old Dominion Electric Co-Op. He proudly served his country in the U.S. National Guard where he served basic in Ft. Sill, OK and completed his military career in Richmond, VA. Dwight was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved spending time outdoors. He had a great knowledge of and took great pride in his vehicles. Dwight is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Hearn; sons, Brette Hearn (Angie), Shane Hearn (Meredith), Travis Hearn (Kerri); granddaughters, Rylan and Breanna; devoted cousin, Marilee Stewart and her sons, Larry and Ricky and his favorite little four-legged Maltese daughter, Bonnie Blue Bailey. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 from 4-6pm at The Beaver Dam Depot, 16199 Beaverdam School Rd, Beaverdam, VA 23015.
