I know that my words cannot adequately express the respect and gratitude I have for such an amazing person and incredible pediatrician as Dr. Rowe. From the moment he walked into the hospital room after the birth of my daughter nearly 27 years ago, I knew he was who I would entrust her care to. In turn, when she had children of her own – he was who she wanted to help watch over her precious babies. Me, like countless others I am sure, knew he was genuine, caring, compassionate, and one of the absolute best in his field. As a very nervous first-time mother who then became also a single mom for a bit of time, he had an almost magical way of calming my worries and assuring me that everything was going to be okay. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Dr. Rowe, for taking such good care of my children, my grandchildren, all the precious other little ones who were fortunate enough to have you in their life. My heart breaks for our loss as well as the loss your family must be feeling. May God watch over them and comfort them as they say their earthly good-byes. Rest in peace, Dr. Rowe. I would like to say one last thank-you for all you did, for so many years and for so many people.

I am heartbroken to learn of Dr. Rowe's sudden death. He has been my grandchildren's doctor for many years. I have never had a doctor who was as caring and kind as he was. When I was diagnosed with leukemia, he made sure that I never waited in the well or sick waiting room when I brought one of my kiddos to see him. When my son's insurance was not accepted by the practice, he went above and beyond and saw the children anyway because as he put it "I want to keep an eye on my 3 monkeys". My heart goes out to his family. He was a wonderful man and a very loving and caring doctor. My "monkeys " and I will miss him. Rest in peace Dr. Rowe. You earned your wings here on earth.

Dr. Rowe is the only reason I survived my first year with twins. I actually looked forward to seeing him at checkups and getting his typical advice for all my crazy questions. He always told me don’t worry mama it will all be ok, have a glass of wine. He was a truly caring and loving doctor that helped myself and my kids through a rough 12 months of life. No matter if it was after hours or he was busy he took the time to make sure we were doing ok. He is someone I will never forget and always hold close to my heart as he has inspired me to be a better person. My thoughts are will his children and wife as he always spoke so highly of them as he shared memories on our visits. Fly high sweet Dr. Rowe!

Dr. Rowe cared for my children for more than 20 years. His kindness, compassion, and humor were priceless. He saw us through accidents, illnesses, college physicals and even a few urgent calls from JMU!
Our hearts are heavy, but we will always remember him fondly. Prayers for his family, friends, and colleagues.

Words can’t convey my sadness at losing one of the most wonderful human beings I’ve ever met. He was such a light among lights, and I’ll never forget his joy, kindness, intelligence and excellent sense of humor. What a tremendous loss for us all but what a gain for Heaven! Please know that so many of us mourn with you and are praying for you. I’m so very sorry.

Tom was one of a kind! I came to know him while working with him at NCR. The energy in the office went up a notch when he came to visit. He always left me laughing and I was always in a better mood after our conversations. My condolences to his family. I know what a hole his passing left in my life, I can't begin to imagine what they are going through. Dr Rowe - you will be missed.

Dr. Rowe showered our beautiful Kennedy with love and kindness since the day she was born. He always spent so much time with us including all of those memorable visits in his office after the well annual visit. He was so special, loving, and one of a kind. He left us was too early.

With all of our love and deepest sympathy,
Heather, Lindsay and Kennedy Rice

Our family is shocked to hear about the passing of Dr. Rowe. My twin girls, now 7, were patients of Dr. Rowe . They fondly referred to him as Dr. Ro Ho. Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time, he was one in a million and will be greatly missed.
