Hazel Wyatt Tyson

TYSON, Hazel Wyatt, 97, of Ashland, VA, passed away on January 15, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Tyson and her sister, Alma Thomas. She is survived by her son, Ronald Tyson (Barbara); daughter, Donna Lee Torreyson , Brady Edwards, Brooke Thomasson, Caroline Connor, Allison Connor, Paige Connor, and Luke Connor, Helen Foster, Anne Foster and Mary Foster; sisters, Grace Tinsley and Alice Rishel; son-in-law, Ken Torreyson; nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. Special acknowledgements go to Ray Tyson, Juanita and Ernie Brown, Denise Crawford and family, Judy Bryant, Linda Andrews, Pastor Amy Pannell, Bon Secours Hospital and Ashland Nursing and Rehab Center. Hazel was a faithful and dedicated member of Kenwood United Methodist Church. She was a talented and published poet, avid gardener, and was an inspiring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 19, 2015 at Kenwood United Methodist Church, where the family will receive friends 1 hour prior. Interment will be private at Signal Hill Memorial Park.
