Henry "Rusty" Wood Mooberry III

He was the loving husband of Barbara W. Mooberry; devoted father of Henry "Scott" Mooberry IV, Jennifer M. Mott, MaryJo M. Gearles (Tim), Jamie J. Borel (Justin), Mary Margaret Morris (Jason) and Mary Megan Nguyen (Hoa); cherished grandfather of Corey Mooberry (Cassidy), Christopher Martin, Briana Borel, Madelyn Borel, Willow Meredith, Cameron Morris, and Mikayla Nguyen; great-grandfather of Myles Romeo, Jasper Mooberry and Jensen Mooberry. He is also survived by his siblings, Sharon M. Stigall (Tom), Karen M. Gruver (Jim) and Melanie M. Horner (Jay) and numerous nieces and nephews. Henry was preceded in death by his mother Lillian Ely Mooberry and father Henry Wood Mooberry, Jr.

Henry served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam earning the NDSM AFM 900-3, SAEMR SO G-20 2856th ABGp (66), VSM AFM 900-3 and RVCM AFM 900-3 decorations, and was a retired Virginia Master State Trooper. He was inducted into the Meadowbrook High School Athletic Hall of Fame for Basketball- All State and All Metro, Leading Scorer-All State, and Most Valuable Player and For Track- Lettered in Outdoor Track.

A celebration of life for Henry will be held Friday, March 7, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Nelsen Funeral Home Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA 23005.
