Jean was born in Beaverdam, Virginia, on August 3rd, 1942 to the late Reed and Hallie Stanley.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Byron Newman; brother, David "Diddy" Stanley and nephew, Doyle Stanley.
Jean leaves behind her sister, Anne Anderson and brother, Grayson Stanley; one special niece, Alisa "Annabel" Farmer and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jean loved the Lord and was a devoted pastor's wife for over 27 years. She was known for her deep love for her family and friends. She often boasted about having great-great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at Riverside Baptist Church, 20057 Teman Rd., Beaverdam, VA 23015 on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 1525, Ranson, WV 25438.
