John Reed, age 83, of Glen Allen, Virginia passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024. He was the loving husband of 64 years of Gale G. Reed; devoted father of John Michael Reed and his wife Julie; cherished grandfather of Andrew Reed; brother of Charles Reed and his wife Betty, Marjorie Reed, Joyce Ann Vanzant and her husband Bill and Osler Reed. He is preceded in death by his parents, Osler and Myrtle Reed of Canada, Kentucky.
John retired from Verizon, enjoyed golfing, gardening, coaching baseball and basketball, and loved all sports.
Relatives and friends are invited to John's visitation at Nelsen Funeral Home- Ashland, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA 23005 on Monday, March 25, 2024, from 12:00 PM until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 PM. Interment will immediately follow in Signal Hill Memorial Park, 12360 Hanover Courthouse Road, Hanover, VA 23069.
