Joseph Benjamin Hall

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ruth Christine Hall. Joseph is survived by his devoted children, Rebecca Byiers, Shirley Price, Joseph Hall Sr., David Hall Sr., and Brenda Wright; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by 3 sisters, 3 brothers, and a host of extended family and friends who loved him dearly.

Joseph was a hardworking man throughout his life. He dedicated more than 20 years of service to J.H. Knighton Lumber Company, where his strong work ethic and love for working in the woods were well known. He took great pride in his work and cherished the simple joys it brought him.

Above all, Joseph was a loving husband, father, “Papa,” brother, uncle, and friend to many. His kindness, dedication, and strength will forever be remembered by all who knew him.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to James River Hospice of Chesterfield for their care and compassion.

Relatives and friends are invited to Joseph's visitation at Nelsen Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA., on Tuesday, October 21, from 6-8 PM and Wednesday, October 22, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at Oak Grove Wesleyan Church, 16354 Woodman Hall Rd., Montpelier, VA, on Thursday, October 23, at 11 AM. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
