Joseph Emanuel Jackson, 78, of Ashland, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Deacon Walter Walker Jackson and Janie Johnson Jackson, sisters, Grace King, Lillian White, and Bessie Taylor, brothers-in-law, Wilbur King, Matthew White, James Taylor, John Jones and Mitchell King, and sisters-in-law, Marjorie Jackson and Delilah Cummings.
Joseph was employed as a car salesman at Sheehy Ford in Ashland, where he took pride in helping customers find the right vehicle. He was a devoted member of the Brown Grove Baptist Church. Joseph’s passion for music led him to manage several clubs over the years, where he enjoyed sharing his love for sound and entertainment. In his free time, he was an avid sports fan, especially fond of baseball, football, and professional wrestling. He also had a great appreciation for westerns and true crime shows, which he watched with great interest.
Joseph was survived by his loving wife, Joyce White Jackson; cherished children, Michael D. Jackson and Keisha L. Evans-Farve (husband Bert); and his siblings, Virginia Jones, Helen King, and Walter Jackson. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Paul White, Jr., (Jackie), Cornelius White, and Gerald Cummings. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Among them was a devoted friend, Edward Russell Goff.
In accordance with Joseph’s wishes, his remains were cremated, and there will be no official funeral services. A celebration of life will be held at a later date, and details will be announced when available.
