Joyce Snoddy Jones

Joyce was preceded in death by her son, Jerry L. Jones; partner of 33 years, William "Buck" Carneal; parents, Herbert and Amy Snoddy; sister, Myra "Jean" Davis; and brothers, Herbert "Pat" Snoddy, Jr. and William "Bill" Snoddy.

Joyce's house was home to more than her own three boys, as she kept countless children over her more than 40 year career as an at home childcare provider, loving and nurturing each one of them.

Joyce is survived by her sons, Timothy R. Jones; Terry A. Jones and his wife Michele; her grandson Austin D. Jones; and her daughter-in-law, Nina S. Jones.

The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington Hwy. Ashland, VA 23005; where a funeral will begin at 11am on Friday, September 8, 2023 with interment to follow at Woodland Cemetery, 11310 Hanover Ave., Ashland, VA 23005.
