Born June 5, 1931 she was one of four children of Herman and Lottie Johnson.
She is survived by her son Thomas (Tommy) and was predeceased by a daughter Kelly, husband Walter and her brothers Pete, Stuart and Gordon Johnson.
After working for Blue Cross Blue Shield she devoted herself to family, her church and her farm. If she was not in church, visitors knew to look for her in the barn tending to the cows.

Visitation is Sunday, October 22nd from 2:30 pm – 5:30 pm and Service will be held Monday, October 23rd at 10:00 am, both held at Nelsen Funeral Home in Ashland, VA. Interment to follow immediately afterwards at Signal Hill Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Bethel Cemetery Fund, 17325 Dawn Blvd, Hanover VA 23069.
