Kathy was one of my very best friends. We had such wonderful times together at our Anthem birthday dinners, and she and I enjoyed going to Cracker Barrel,O'Charley's for free pie Wednesday, and shopping at Peebles Department Store. I loved her wit and oh how I miss her, but she is rejoicing in heaven. May God bless her family. Love,Joan Davis.

Hello Counts family. I'm sorry to hear the news of your mom's passing. I didn't know your mom when we shared high school, but I did share her years at Blue Cross. She was a wonderful, caring, hard worker. She had a beautiful smile, great laugh and just enough "devilment" to make her fun. Prayers for strength in the days/weeks to come.

There were just a small handful of ladies that I would list besides my very own mother who had an integral role in my upbringing. Mrs. Counts was one of them. Us boys always knew where we stood with her, yet she loved that Rockville group line her own. She's welcome us in the house, get a rundown on what we were up to and then throw out a few instructions as we took off on whatever was next. I remember her at the Center pool, at Berea Church, our ball games in little league and the Rockville Rockets, our softball games later with the Rebels and Patrick Henry high school football games. As I grew up and left to be Rockville, later ending up in the Air Force, she was there to welcome me back to Mom and Dads after Desert Storm. When I eventually moved to Alabama and would come back home to visit, I stopped by to visit on several occasions along with Joe just to check in and catch up with Joe and Mrs Counts. Never a dull moment and most every time she'd let us in on something we'd done that she knew about that we thought we had gotten away with as youth. Her memory was sharp along with her wit and I loved sitting downstairs and visiting. I had the pleasure of bringing my wife Kim to a couple of the visits. She knew how important it was to me to see her and enjoyed the story telling as much as I enjoyed hearing and reliving it. She was one of a kind and a steady influence in my upbringing. Sure hate that I didn't get up to Rockville one more time. I sure am glad I didn't put off visiting when I did. God bless you guys and I pray for your strength and comfort. Sure am going to miss her and knowing another part of my childhood has now moved on to heaven gives me mixed emotions as I'm sure it does for you all. Last thing, love ya Fuzz Top!

Joe, please accept my sincere condolences. I never met your mom but I know she had to be a sweet caring person to raise a son as awesome as you. Lean on the memories, they will give you peace.
