He is survived by his wife of 67 years Betty; son, James “Jimmy” Spencer Patterson, Sr.; daughter, Judy Ann Barnes (Lee); 6 grandchildren; Spencer (Carin), Kevin (Sarah) and Anthony (Jessica) Patterson; Brandy, Tonya and Justin Barnes; 8 great-grandchildren.
He was a respected Auto Mechanic and former owner of Lawrence Truck Service
of Richmond. The family will receive friends Monday, January 5, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, at Nelsen
Funeral Home, Reid Chapel, 412 Washington Hwy, Ashland, where services will be held Tuesday,
January 6, 2015 at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Signal Hill Memorial Park, Hanover.
