She is survived by her husband Ramon Lowry, children Anna Lowry and Robert Lowry, his wife Laura, and grandchildren Ava, Logan, and Elise.
Gray, as she was known by most, spent most of her life in Greenville NC. She grew up with her parents Harding and Annabelle Sugg, sisters Anne Stroud (Eddie) and Mary Boyd Click (Jay), and brother Harding Sugg (Pat). Summers were spent in Atlantic Beach with family and friends enjoying music, dancing, and beach life - all passions that she passed on to her kids and grandkids. She was inspired to become a teacher and graduated from East Carolina University. She met her future husband, Ramon (Ray), in a teaching job in Franklin, Virginia and they married and built their final home in Beaverdam, Virginia.
Over the years she was involved in Scouts, local church events, choir, substitute teaching, tutoring, and school boosters/events as a way for her to give back to her community. As a devoted grandmomma, Gray set aside part of her summer every year to go to the beach and enjoy the company of her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was a wonderful lady and will be greatly missed.
Her service will be held on Saturday, January 20" at 11:30 am at Nelsen Funeral Home in Ashland Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the American Heart Association.
