Lillie Mae Middlebrook

She was preceded in death by her loving and cherished husband, Richard Middlebrook.

Lillie is survived by her children, Judy Hayes, Scott Middlebrook, David Middlebrook, Chris Middlebrook, Matt Middlebrook and his wife, Cindy, and Kim Valenti and her husband, Steve. She was a devoted grandmother to Jessica and Jonathan Middlebrook, Jennifer Gaye and her husband, Sammy, Lucy and Luke Middlebrook, and Nick and Josh Valenti. She is also survived by her brother, Ray Medley, three great-grandchildren, and many other loving family members and friends.

Lillie found joy in the simple blessings of life. She loved reading her Bible, spending time outdoors under the shade of a tree, watching birds, tending to her garden, and, most of all, being with her family. She was known for her caring nature and could often be found calling or texting loved ones just to check on them. Family gatherings brought her immense happiness, and her love, kindness, and devotion to those she cherished will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 412 South Washington Highway, Ashland, Virginia.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church Cemetery, 25187 Signboard Road, Ruther Glen, Virginia.

Lillie's memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will forever cherish the love, warmth, and guidance she shared throughout her life.
