

Linda Susan Branscum Delbridge, age 80, of Rockville, Virginia, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026. Born on September 7, 1945, in Bakersfield, California, Linda lived a life marked by kindness, devotion to family, and a deep appreciation for friendship and adventure.
She was preceded in death by her cherished husband of 58 years, Herbert S. Delbridge, Jr.; her parents, Theodore Andrew Branscum Sr. and Elizabeth Gay Stump; and her siblings, Elizabeth Gay Branscum Hancock and Theodore Andrew Branscum Jr.
Linda is survived by her loving sons, Curtis Kent Delbridge and John Andrew Delbridge and his wife Debra; her grandchildren, Sterling Kent Delbridge and his fiancée Casey, and Andrew Brennan Delbridge; and her great-grandchildren, Kent Jackson Delbridge, Colten Scott Anderson, Mackenzie Marie Delbridge, and Savannah Ray Delbridge.
Linda attended Bakersfield High School and college in California. She dedicated more than 32 years of service to HCA-Parham Campus, where she was respected and appreciated by colleagues and friends alike.
Linda will be remembered for her kind heart, her love of friends, and her unwavering devotion to her family. One of her greatest joys was hand-knitting large yarn blankets, each one carefully crafted and given to special people in her life as an expression of her love and generosity.
She also had a passion for travel and experiencing other cultures. Together with Herb, she traveled to approximately 30 countries during their 58 years of marriage. Their journeys included many memorable destinations, among them Japan, where they first met and began the life they would share together.
Relatives and friends are invited to Linda's visitation at Nelsen Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA 23005, on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at Nelsen Funeral Home Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA 23005, on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Signal Hill Memorial Park, 12360 Hanover Courthouse Rd., Hanover, VA 23069.
As a lasting tribute to the lives and legacy of Linda and Herb, memorial contributions may be made to Operation Purple Heart Truck.
