Sasser, Melvin L., 83, of Ashland, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 16, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Estelle Sasser; children, Douglas Sasser (Debra), Rev. Harold Sasser (Brenda), and Mary Loclear (Rabion); seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 18, 2013 at the Ashland Church of God, 407 Myrtle St., Ashland, VA 23005 where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2013. Interment will be at Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Ashland Church of God where Mr. Sasser was a member for 52 years.
