Patricia Sylvia Swingle

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Francis Franklin Sylvia and Mary Elizabeth Sylvia; sister, Frankie Sylvia Harper; and little brother, Richard Clark.

She is survived by her loving husband, William "Bill" Swingle; children, Tim Swingle (Carolyn), Steve Swingle; Sylvia Swingle, and Sharon Swingle; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; little-brother, Ted Smith (Brenda) of Mechanicsville; and sisters, Judy Pugh of Hopewell, VA and June Luck (Gil) of Ormond Beach, FL.

Patricia graduated in 1955 from Henry Clay High School in Ashland where she was a member of the Cheerleading squad. She volunteered at Kenwood United Methodist Church as a clerical aid and taught Sunday School for decades. She was an assistant Girl Scout Leader. She worked for the Old Hanover National Bank and stayed through it's transitions to BB&T, retiring in 2009. She enjoyed playing cards with her girlfriends. She also enjoyed taking care of the little visiting critters.

The family will receive friends from 4 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA 23005. A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Kenwood Cemetery, 11208 Elmont Rd., Ashland, VA 23005.
