She was preceded in passing by her parents, Otha Nelson and Helen Cox Edwards, brother Gordon "Bucky" N. Edwards, son, Everette Keith Metz, and daughter, Deborah Wilson.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, William Brooks; brother, John "Johnny" W. Edwards; sisters, Vivian Edwards and Frances "Teeny" Edwards Frames; and son, John E. Metz (Renee), and daughter Paula Saunders Kennedy (Patrick). She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Jessica Rose, Michael Kennedy,
Tabitha, Becki, Sara, and Kendall Metz, Kimberly Groome, Kelly Groome, and seven great-grandchildren, and dozens of nieces and nephews, and all above who loved her dearly.
Relatives and friends are invited to Phyllis' Memorial Service at Nelsen Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington Hwy, Ashland, VA, on Saturday, April 11th at 11 AM.
