

R.C. was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Hazel R. Cook and his parents, Ralph C. Cook Sr. and Ethel Cook.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Beverley Evans, Randy Cook (Wanda), Ronnie Cook (Virginia), and Robin Butler (Rick); grandchildren, Stephanie Evans, Tabitha Murphy, Stephen Cook, Jennifer Keener, Jason Cook, Aaron Cook, Megan Butler, Claire Bucci, and Peyton Butler; 6 great grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Catherine Elliott; and numerous nieces and nephews.
R.C. was a faithful member of Parham Road Baptist Church where he was a deacon for many years. He dedicated 23 years to serving his country in the United States Air Force. Between his stints in the Air Force he was a North Carolina Highway Patrolman. After retirement from the Air Force he worked for Xerox for 20 years.
R.C. enjoyed traveling and cruises with his loving wife, Hazel. As a talented artist, he enjoyed painting ceramics. While living in Alaska and Florida, R.C. would fish whenever he could. Above all else he loved his family, who will miss him dearly.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2023 at Parham Road Baptist Church, 2101 N. Parham Rd., Henrico, VA 23229 where a funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. R.C. will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Endowment Fund at Parham Road Baptist Church.
