

He was with his wife and daughter when he passed away. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Tate, his daughter, Mary Louise Tate, his nephew, Clifton Cauthorne Jr., his great nephews Trey Cauthorne, John Cauthorne, Elijah Cauthorne, and Zach Cauthorne, his great nieces, Mary Cauthorne, Eden Cauthorne, and his cousin, Betty Manning.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Tate, his mother, Mary Rice Tate and his sister, Patsy Howard.
He was a retired beef, cattle farmer, he also retired from Parks and Recreation of Hanover County. He was a member of the young farmers for many years and volunteered at the Ruritan club for many years. He also worked for a printing company. He liked gardening, taking care of animals, working with his hands, antique cars, and being outdoors. He was an active member of Hanover Baptist Church for many years.
The family will receive friends from 10am to 11am on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Hanover Baptist Church, 11239 Cedar Ln., Glen Allen, VA 23059, where a funeral service will begin at 11am. Burial will follow at Shiloh United Methodist Church, 17420 Shiloh Church Rd, Montpelier, VA 23192.
