Robert Wayne Cauthorne

Robert Wayne "Buster" Cauthorne, 73, of Ladysmith passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, June 21, 2025. If you were lucky enough to know him, you knew that Buster was one of a kind. He loved being outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing in the Outer Banks, and riding his motorcycle. But there was nothing he loved more than his family. Buster was rough and tough, but when it came to those he loved he had the biggest heart.

Buster was born on May 3, 1952 in Beaverdam. On December 15, 1975 he married the love of his life, Karen Jenkins Cauthorne. He is also survived by his children Christopher (Grace) Cauthorne, Bryan (Rebecca) Cauthorne, and Melissa (Chris) Cauthorne Bell. Grandchildren Deklan, Holly, Quinn, Jadyn, Haven and Ven. Brothers Joe Cauthorne and Calvin Cauthorne. Sisters Barbara Ritenour, Patricia Cauthorne, and Teresa Crismond, numerous nieces and nephews that he loved like his own children.

He was preceded in death by his parents Bernice Joe and Mary Elizabeth Cauthorne. Brothers David and Johnny. In-laws Howard and Elsie Jenkins which he thought of as parents and lovingly called Maw and Paw.

Relatives and friends are invited to Buster's visitation on Monday, June 30th, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Nelsen Funeral Home-Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA and where a Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 1st at 2:00 PM.
