He is preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Dawn Tyson.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Gray Tyson; daughters, Kim Edwards (Brett), and Blair Thomasson (Trey); three beautiful grandchildren, Brooke Thomasson, Brady Edwards, and Raleigh Thomasson. He is also survived by his sister, Donna Lee Torreyson, and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Ron enjoyed golf, travel, new restaurants, and spending time with family on the Florida room. He was a loving husband, father, and Gramps. He served in the U.S. Army and was a longtime member of Kenwood United Methodist Church and the Elmont community.
A service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Kenwood United Methodist Church, 11208 Elmont Road, Ashland, Virginia 23005.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kenwood United Methodist Church.
