Rose Rogers Carneal

Rose Rogers Carneal, 91, of Ashland, went to heaven on February 27, 2017, where she was reunited with her husband, Harrell; her infant son, John; and brothers, Wilmer and Ralph Rogers who preceded her in death. Rose retired as a receptionist from Hanover County after many years of service including time with The Hanover County Treasurers Office. She was a lifelong member at Independence Christian Church. She was a past member of the Eastern Star. Rose volunteered with the Red Cross and Meals on Wheels. She is survived by her son, James (Joan); grandsons, Jamie (Margaret) and Jason (Katy); great-grandchildren, Sydney, Sierra, and Ryan; as well as extended family. The family extends their gratitude to the staff of Alpha House for their dedication to her care. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 pm at Nelsen Funeral Home & Crematory - Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Highway, Ashland, VA, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 10:00 am. Interment will be private in Woodland Cemetery.
