Glenn had a deep love for fishing, whether saltwater or freshwater—if there was a line to cast, he was happy. He was also a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, loyal through every season. Known for his quick wit and easygoing nature, Glenn connected effortlessly with others. His humor and relatability made him someone people naturally gravitated toward, and he will be remembered for the laughter he shared and the conversations that came easily in his presence.
Glenn worked for Bailey’s Plumbing Heating & Cooling for approximately 24 years. More than just coworkers, he considered the people there his family, and he took great pride in both his work and the relationships he built over the years.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents: Minnie Pauline Carter and Thomas Carter; his daughter: Samantha Gayle Carter; and his beloved black Labrador: Ace.
He is survived by his son, Ryan G. Carter; his grandson, Christian Carter; Penny Lunsford Carter, the mother of his son; his brothers: Thomas Carter and his wife Alison, and Mark Carter and his wife Michelle; as well as his nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to Glenn's visitation at Nelsen Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington Hwy, Ashland, VA, on Saturday, January 24th, from 10 AM until the time of service in the chapel at 11 AM. Glenn will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him and fondly remembered for the simple joys he embraced and the warmth he brought into the lives of others.
