Ruby Mallory Corker

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, George E. Corker, Jr. and their son William Elliott Corker.

Ruby is survived by her children Phyllis Stoneburner (Bob), Garry Corker (Nancy), Cheryl Bookwalter (Scott), and Larry Corker (Debbie), eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren (with one on the way), two great great-grandchildren, and numerous friends and neighbors.

She loved family, both by blood and adopted. Ruby took great pride in being a grandmother, great and

great -great grandmother. She loved playing board games and was an avid Scrabble player. She also enjoyed reading, especially romances and mysteries, and putting puzzles together.

Ruby was loved beyond measure and will be dearly missed.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday June 26, 2024 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 412 S Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA 23005, followed by a service at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Ashland, VA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ruby’s name may be made to her favorite charities, Shriner’s Hospital (lovetotheresuce.org), St. Jude’s (stjude.org), Peninsula Food Bank (hrfoodbank.org) and Western Tidewater Free Clinic (wtfreeclinic.org).
