Shirley Sue Smith

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Isaac "Lindy" Smith; her parents, Ocie Mitchell Jones and Pattie Sue Walker Jones; her brothers, William Jones, Stover Jones, Franklin Jones, and Mitchell Jones; and her sisters, Ione Saunders and Elizabeth Jones.

Shirley was a faithful member of Taylorsville Baptist Church, where she found great joy in serving her church family and participating in the Ruritans Club. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose kindness and love were felt by all who knew her.

Shirley had a natural gift for cooking and was known for her wonderful meals and warm hospitality. She also enjoyed sewing and crafting, creating beautiful handmade items that reflected her creativity and care for others.

She is survived by her loving children, David L. Smith (Terri), Susan S. Ramsey (Luke), Charles M. Smith, and Lisa C. Davis (Mike); her cherished grandchildren, Matthew, Mallory, Melissa, Sarah, Jennifer, and Bree; and her adored great-grandson, Landon.

Shirley’s gentle spirit, servant’s heart, and unconditional love will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 10 am to 11 am on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Taylorsville Baptist Church, located at 15415 Taylorsville Rd, Doswell, VA, 23047. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 am with a committal to follow at Taylorsville Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Taylorsville Baptist Church.
