Stephanie Shorb Hamm

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years, David Hamm, and by her parents, Sterling and Ruth “Peggie” Shorb.

Stephanie devoted many years to serving as the secretary for her family’s business, where she was known for her dedication, reliability, and caring nature. Outside of work, she found her greatest happiness spending time with her horses, a lifelong passion that brought her endless joy. More than anything, Stephanie treasured the time she shared with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, who brought so much happiness to her life.

She leaves behind her loving children, Justin Hamm and his wife, Kristy, and Jarrod Hamm. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, William Hamm and Elizabeth Hamm, who were the light of her life.

Stephanie is also survived by her brother, Jerry Shorb and his wife, Carolyn; her niece, Shannon Hammond and her husband, Derek; and her nephews, Sterling Shorb and his wife, Kara, and Scott Shorb and his wife, Leah.

Stephanie will be remembered for her kind heart, her love of horses, her unwavering devotion to her family, and the countless memories she created with those she loved. Her gentle spirit and loving presence will be deeply missed but forever treasured by all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to Stephanie's visitation on Monday, July 6th, at Nelsen Funeral Home-Ashland, 412 S. Washington Hwy, Ashland, VA, from 4 PM to 6 PM.

Interment services are Private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Richmond Animal Care & Control (RACC), ACCA Shriners, or Hanover Humane Society charities.
