OBITUARY

Thelma Burnett Robertson

Robertson, Thelma B., of Ashland, passed away on July 18, 2015. Married in 1947 in Philadelphia, her and her husband moved to Ashland in 1950 so Don could attend Randolph-Macon College. They fell in love with the Town and its citizens and decided to make it their home. Don died in 1995 and on July 18, 2015 Thelma reunited with him in Heaven. Thelma was a volunteer with the Ashland American Legion Auxiliary caring for WWII veterans at McGuire Veterans Hospital. She was also a volunteer at the Ashland Visitor Center and for more then 20 years was a dental assistant to the late Robert W. Goode, D.D.S. In addition to her husband, Thelma was predeceased by her parents, Verlin Enoch and Martha Winn Burnett; a brother, Theodore Burnett; and a sister, Viola Malley. She is survived by her devoted sister, Betty Jeltes of Michigan; daughter, Karen; son, Donald, Jr.; three grandchildren, Donald, III (Amanda),, Joshua (Heather), Samantha; one great-grandchild, Landon; and her best friend, Tyler; as well as four nieces and two nephews. She is also survived by dear friends Rosemary Jones, Ann Mauck and Irv Kenyon. A graveside service will be held at 10am on Friday, July 24, 2015 at Woodland Cemetery in Ashland, VA. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her memory to Bon Secours Hospice Healthcare Program, 7229 Forest Ave., Ste. 200, Richmond, VA 23226.
