Born in Jamesville, North Carolina, Jim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose family, faith, and love of the outdoors meant so much to him.
After serving in the Army, Jim began his career at Hyman Brothers Pontiac before later retiring as a supervisor at Philip Morris on Stockton Street in Richmond.
He was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and found happiness in fishing, hunting, and bass fishing tournaments. He also treasured the friendships he made as a member of the Waterloo Hunt Club.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Glenda; his sons, Jason (Carol) and David (Wendy); his grandchildren, Jordan (Jason) and Hannah (Taylor); and his great-grandson, Fletcher.
The family is deeply grateful to the caregivers and staff at Alpha House/Hanover Manor in Ashland for the kindness, compassion, and loving care they gave Jim.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, October 27 at 2:00 p.m. at Signal Hill Cemetery in Hanover, Virginia.
