Willard (Willie) L. Mills, 62, of Ashland who was born September 23, 1956, went home to be with the lord on September 23, 2018. He was the son of the late Hugh E. and Mable Mills and was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Mills and sister, Grace Strickland. Willie worked as a mechanic with Breedlove Masonry, was a member of Forest Grove United Methodist Church, a past President of the Richmond Rose Society, and a member of Master Gardeners. Mr. Mills is survived by his brother, William E. Mills and wife Mary of Lincolnton, NC; nieces, Lisa Davis (Dale), Debbie Westbrook (Chuck), and Pamela Shain (Tim) and special friend, Elaine Erickson. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 5pm to 8pm at Nelsen Funeral Home & Crematory - Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA 23005. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 11am at Forest Grove United Methodist Church, 13384 Ashland Rd., Ashland, VA 23005. Internment will follow in the church cemetery.
