Alvin Hartness

Alvin Hartness, of the Verwood district, SK passed away June 1, 2023 at age 89 years. Alvin is survived by his wife of 66 ½ years, Lynn (Good); five children: Debbie (Alfred) Jarton, Clayton, Deanne Welter, Mark (Sherry), Brandon (Carrie); eight grandchildren: Chad, Kreg, Natasha, Ashley, Sara, Cody, Taylor, Ryley; step-grandchildren: Devin, Preston, Kaitlyn; great-grandchildren: Paxtyn, Romero, Walker; step-great-grandchildren: Jayden, Justus, Tyra, Zina, Zaleka, Zalena, Scarlet; siblings: Mabel Wallis, Maurice, Harvey (Cecelia), brother-in-law Larry (Bev) Good, sister-in-law Darleen Larson; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Alvin is predeceased by his parents, Walter and Selena; father and mother-in-law Ed and Vera Bertha (Cook) Good; siblings: Thomas (Emma), Leo, John (Anne), Joseph, Ethel Wilson, Lois (Wesley) Maynard, Selena (Lloyd) Rodger, brother-in-law George Wallis, and sister-in-law Sherry (Good) (Bob) Spicer.

Celebration of Life Funeral Service was held Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 1:30pm at St. George’s R.C. Church, Assiniboia, SK. The Reverend Arleen Champion officiated (Anglican Church of Canada). Tribute was presented by nephew, Collin Hartness, along with a family power point presentation. Urn bearers were the grandchildren, Chad, Kreg, Natasha, Cody, Ashley, Taylor, Sara and Ryley. Masonic Funeral Rites were given. Lunch and fellowship followed the service, with Interment at the Verwood Cemetery after.

Donations in Memory of Alvin may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
