

She was born on the family homestead near Valor, SK, to her parents, Kamil and Josephine Scheltgen, who raised her with strong values and hard work. Her journey began when she moved to Assiniboia where she started building her life, family and community connections that would define her. She met the love of her life, Gerald George Triska, and married at St. Paul’s United Church on November 13, 1948. On May 23, 1950, son Jim was born followed on July 18, 1961, daughter Joan.
After the sudden passing of her husband Gerald in July 1975, she assumed responsibility for the farm alongside her son Jim, managing it with resilience, dedication and deep respect for the life they had built together. She and her daughter co-owned the last three quarters until her passing, a shared bond that reflected their close relationship and mutual dedication to preserving the family’s legacy and that of her husband.
A lifelong pillar of the community, Anne devoted countless years to service, leadership and quiet generosity. Over the years, she worked in numerous local businesses forming lasting friendships and earning the respect of all who knew her. Anne was a devoted member of St. Paul’s United Church where she served faithfully as Treasurer, a role carried out with integrity, dedication and deep commitment to the congregation. Her faith and sense of responsibility guided much of her life’s work. Anne was a proud 75-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the longest serving member in Saskatchewan. She valued fellowship, charity and service, forming lifelong friendships and contributing meaningfully to the organization’s mission. She often said that the love from her Eastern Star sisters and Masonic brothers guided and comforted her after the passing of her loving and devoted husband Gerald. Committed to advocating for others, Anne also served as Treasurer of the Eastside Court Tenant Committee working diligently to support residents and strengthen the community they called home. She gave freely of her time to countless community organizations, her contributions touching far more lives than can be listed. She delighted in sharing her travel experiences with her family, turning each journey into stories and lessons that strengthened their bond and deepened their appreciation of life beyond home. She fondly spoke of her travels with her Eastern Star sisters and good friends to England, the Maritimes, Alaska, Hawaii and numerous destinations in the United States. She had a deep love of sports, especially the Blue Jays, and found special joy and camaraderie bowling in the women’s and senior leagues. Anne will be remembered for her kindness, love, and unwavering willingness to help others. Her legacy of service and community will be felt for generations. Above all, her greatest joy was her love and devotion to family. She cherished time spent together especially during family visits that were always filled with warmth, laughter and care. Her home was known for the comforting presence of home-baked treats and loving prepared meals, expressions of her deep love and nurturing spirit. Through her baking, cooking and attentive hospitality, she created lasting memories that her family will treasure forever.
Predeceased by her husband Gerald, her parents, Kamil and Josephine Scheltgen, infant brother, brothers Albert and Leonard (Cordelia) Scheltgen. Her legacy and love continues to live through her son Jim (Janice) and daughter Joan (Alex) Cuevas; four grandchildren Michael (Sheila) and their son Matthew; Carla (Al) Proust and their children Berkley and Hudson; Derek; and Mark and his son Alexander.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 7:30 pm in the Ross Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026 at 2:00 pm at St. Paul’s United Church, Assiniboia, SK. Following the Interment at Mount Hope Cemetery, Assiniboia, SK, the family invites everyone to fellowship and lunch at St. Paul’s United Church Fellowship Hall.
