Arnold Melvin Swensen

November 21st, 1917 - July 14th, 2012

Arnold Swensen passed away peacefully at the Grasslands Health Centre, Rockglen, SK, on Saturday, July 14th, 2012. He was born on the family farm in the Ardill area and as a young man worked in Assiniboia where he met Prue McLachlin. They were married in 1943 and spent 62 happy years together. Arnold joined the RCAF in 1942 and served as an airplane mechanic, being unable to be a pilot because of his eyesight. He and Prue lived and worked in the United States for several years, before returning to Saskatchewan. He worked at Crescent Furniture in Moose Jaw for a number of years and later at Segal’s Furniture in Regina until his retirement. He was predeceased by his wife in 2005, his parents Christopher and Rikka Swensen, brothers Ben and Sigurd and sisters Ragna, Borghild and Helma. He will be lovingly remembered by his many nephews, niece and their families. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Grasslands Health Centre for their loving care of our uncle. A private family interment service will be held. Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army or charity of donors choice.
