Cheryl was the only child born to Kenneth and Billie Purse of Regina, Saskatchewan. She is survived by her daughter Candy, grandchildren Jack (Mackenzie) and Billie Liskowich, sister Shannon (Howard) Dobko, as well as her sister-in-law Joyce Giblett and brother-in-law Dick Thompson.
Cheryl married Bob Giblett in 1966 and she was devoted to their life together until the time of his passing in 2020. Cheryl loved to work. She had many careers and adventures around the province but she was always excited to tell stories of her time managing the Moose Jaw Wild Animal Park. Cheryl’s work ethic could not be matched and her ability to make friends out of strangers kept her busy wherever she was living. Cheryl was also a good athlete. She was a fierce competitor, despite her size, at the curling rink and the golf course.
Cheryl’s greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren. From their birth, she was convinced Jack and Billie could do no wrong and if you disagreed, you would get the ‘evil eye’. Jack made her laugh constantly, he was her favourite golf partner, and Granny never missed a single concert or play that her talented granddaughter Billie participated in.
A celebration of Cheryl and Bob Giblett will be held at the Serbian Club - 2775 Avonhurst Drive, Regina, Saskatchewan at 1:30 pm on April 16th, 2023.
Cheryl’s family is extremely grateful to Regina Home Care Services for all the assistance they offered to give mom a high quality of life over the last three years.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy for the Giblett family may be shared at www.rossfuneralservice.com. Arrangements entrusted to Ross Funeral Service, Assiniboia, SK
