Dolores Cleveland (Kyle) of Bengough, SK., passed away on September 20, 2023 at age 98. Dolores was predeceased by husband Grover (May 2012). She is survived by her six children: Lorraine (Bob) Bellay, Linda Cleveland, Ivan (Sheila) Cleveland, Norma (Ken) Mossing, Laural (Marlene) Cleveland, Ross (Naomi) Cleveland; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild. Dolores was born and raised on the Kyle farm 12 miles east of Bengough which she and husband Grover farmed and is now farmed by son Laural Cleveland and wife Marlene. Grover and Dolores also farmed the Bill Haugen land east of their farm now farmed by grandson Jeffrey Cleveland. Farm life was her passion…. milking cows, raising chickens, ducks and geese; gardening and preserving, and helping with field work. In 1975, Dolores and Grover moved to Bengough and continued to farm, hosting threshing bees at their West farm now farmed by son Ross Cleveland. Dolores and Grover drove school bus for 25 years. Dolores sang in the United Church choir, served on many committees - Hospital and Co-op boards, Drop In Centre, Agricultural Society, and skating and curling rink boards. In 2008, they bought an RV trailer and started camping at Thomson Lake Regional Park. Dolores had many hobbies of cooking and baking (her famous donuts, which have become a family legacy), and sewing, knitting and quilting. Her greatest comforts were her family and her precious dog Benny. She lived in her own home till her passing. Dolores lived a full, well-rounded long life, sharing with her family, many of her own life’s skills and values. She will be sadly missed, but her love and memories will live on forever in the hearts of family and friends. The Cleveland family wish to thank everyone in Bengough and area for their expressions of sympathy, support, gifts of food, cards, and memorial donations.
