OBITUARY
Donna Stewart
January 12, 1933 – December 12, 2020
Donna Genevieve Stewart (nee Anderson) passed away in her home on December 12th, 2020 at 87 years of age. She is survived by her brother Garry (Lynda) Anderson, her children Beth (Rodney) Punga, Joan (Ron – deceased) McKenzie, Tim (Shannon) Stewart, LaRene Walentschek, Gail (Tom) Prpick, Denise Stewart, Tammy (Bernard) Joyal, Donna Stewart (Shane Weeks), 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving husband William (Billy) Stewart; brother Leonard (Majorie) Anderson, sister Karen (Harry) Blake, sister Carol (Ernest) Sandor, brother Clayton (Jean) Anderson; parents Richard and Magdalen (Theis) Anderson; son-in-law Ron McKenzie and great-grandson Zeke Marit. Donna was born in Melaval, SK on October 26th, 1933. She was raised, along with her five siblings, in McCord, SK, enjoying competitive baseball and curling in her younger years. Donna went to school in Calgary to become a nurse before moving to Rockglen where she met and married her husband Billy Stewart. They raised eight children together and Donna had the pleasure of watching her grandchildren grow on to have their own children as well. She was very proud of her growing family and loved all of her thirteen great-grandchildren very much. Donna was a hard working woman who was always involved in her community, especially the community rink - running the concession and volunteering. She was an avid churchgoer and was very strong in her faith. She loved to give back in any way she could and a lot of the time that was through sharing her excellent baking skills with friends, family and the community; especially her world famous buns. Donna loved cards, puzzling, cooking, baking, socializing and was a talented creative seamstress making personalized quilts for her children and grandchildren and leaving them with a great keepsake in her memory. She was a very good conversationalist and always remembered all of the facts of what was going on with her family and friends, never forgetting a birthday or anniversary, and always taking the time to write and send a letter. She was a very admired and respected woman and will be missed dearly. A service is to be determined at a later date. Donations in memory of Donna may be made to the MS Society or the Kidney Foundation of Canada PKD - go to their websites to donate or the Rockglen Community Rinks Ice Plant, Box 328, Rockglen, SK S0H 3R0. Condolences from a Theis cousin. It was always fun to chat with Donna and Billy at family reunions, and enjoy their always-kind humour. They generously lent four of us their place at Thomson Lake for a week before the reunion there. They were both lovely people, and so proud of their family.

Donna was a wonderful lady! She was great to visit with; always had a smile &
told great stories with loads of laughs. We enjoyed visits at Bill & Donna's as well as in McCord & at the lake. She always wanted to see the kids happy. Donna always wanted to help, even when her & Bill were raising eight children. She will be missed by many. We had a wonderful phone visit just a few days before she passed away. We will miss those calls. Donna & Bill will be happy in heaven. Sincere condolences to all the families. Take care.

Some of my earliest memories are of Aunt Donna. It was always such fun to go to "Aunt Donna and Uncle Billy's place" (usually after church) to see my first buddies in life, Denise and Gail! Aunt Donna was always so kind and she always seems to be in support of the kids having fun. Being mean was severely frowned on! She will be missed dearly by all that knew her.

Condolences to the family . My funny memory has to be when your mom made a surprise visit and three packages of smokes were thrown in my direction since I was a smoker and mom didn’t think anyone smoked . Which I don’t think anyone does now anyways . She was a wonderful lady to be around . You could tell by the big smile she loved you all dearly !! Cherish your memories!!!

Donna is a woman who I will carry in my heart always. She became a huge part of my life in Rockglen and made me feel so at home. My time with her was so fun, her stories so beautiful or unbelievably funny. I know she is with her Billy now and that is a lovely thought as she loved him so.
My deepest sympathy to her wonderful children, their families and all her many friends. She loved with all her being and I will miss her greatly.

I met Donna thru my Mom and Dad,
Ralph and Margaret Kirby. Had many visits with her and Billy with my Mom and Dad. My Mom always remarked on
How kind Billy and Donna were to one
Another. I rarely saw Donna upset.
Always laughing and happy with what she had. I once commented on her hair
Being so dark and Donna replied " I can't help it. I have never dyed it. It's
The one thing that doesn't change on me"
My Dad and I both offer our condolences to the family.
Donna will be missed by all who new her.

When my mother was dying, she said that Donna came to her bedside and spent the whole day talking with her and she was so happy to have one of her greatest friends give her comfort on her last day. I was so touched by this, though Donna was in Saskatchewan and Mom was in a Hospital in London Ontario.
They are together again. Thank you Donna for you kindness.
