OBITUARY

Eileen Gee

April 16, 1923December 26, 2020

Eileen Gee nee Williams born April 16, 1923 - deceased December 26, 2020 Eileen was born in Bengough and raised at the family farm near Glasnevin. She attended Derganagh School where she played sports including softball and volleyball. Eileen worked as a teacher’s aid at local schools and a cook at the hospital during the war years. She married Wilfred Gee in 1943. They settled in 1959 at a farm southeast of Bengough. They built a house in 1961, she spoke often of spending the first few years living in the basement prior to finishing the upstairs. It was here that they raised their three boys. They hosted numerous dances in the basement at the farm and took a lot of pleasure entertaining family and friends as often as they could. Wilfred and Eileen retired from farming in 1991 and moved into Bengough shortly after. Wilfred passed away in 1995.

Eileen was very active in the Bengough community. She volunteered at the Twilight Home and Drop-in Centre for several years. She loved dancing and taught lessons to many. Eileen made the best cake donuts and buns. She delivered meals on wheels until she was 90 years old (they would certainly have still been warm as fast as she drove). She bowled once a week in Ogema for many years. Eileen enjoyed playing cards with anyone. She liked playing for money and was competitive no matter who she was playing, young or old. She attended and organized many family reunions for the Williams and Gee families. She took great joy in watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren compete in all of their activities. She was one of a kind and always spoke her mind.

Eileen was predeceased by her parents Evelyn and Melvin Williams, her husband Wilfred Gee, son Blaine Gee, brother and sister-in-law George and Eileen Williams, and numerous brother and sister-in-laws.

She is survived by sons Bryan (Terry) Gee and Boyd Gee

grandchildren; Mark (Teresa) Gee, Dale (Christine) Gee, Kevin (Kendall) Gee, Cody Gee, Jackie (Kelly) Reynolds, Rick (Robyn) Bowes, and Greg (Kendall) Bowes

15 great-grandchildren: -Dylan and Payten -Shaina, Keanna, and Brooklyn -Trace and Laramie -Brodee, Robbin, Corben -Aubrey, McKinley, Paisley -Sawyer and Grayson

A graveside memorial service will be held at the Bengough Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Eileen can be made to the Drop-In Centre in Bengough. Sincere condolences to Bryan and and all the Gee families on Eileen's passing.. I was on the Board of The Drop-Inn Centre with
her and she always called a spade a spade , you always knew where
she stood on any issue. She loved the rummy games and was very sharp and competitive. We considered her a good friend. She will be missed.
