Emma was born December 29, 1920, on the family farm in the Bliss Lake District, north of Ormiston, Sk. She was the youngest child of Soren and Sorina Franks. Emma attended Bliss Lake School. She helped with many different chores on the farm, including doing Carl’s chores at times. Emma loved to play ball, often riding horseback to ball games. She would go to Caroline's farm to help them with their harvest and she also worked in Regina for a short time keeping house and cooking meals for a working couple. Emma married Max Scott in 1940, at Ogema, Sk. They built a small house on the Scott farm and lived there until 1949, when they moved into Horizon. While in Horizon, Emma was involved with the Homemakers Club and the Royal Purple of Bengough and later Assiniboia. They retired to Assiniboia in 1973.
Many memories were made on fishing and camping trips with family and friends. Emma loved and enjoyed her family, and all the special times she spent with many friends, especially the old time sing songs, curling, curling events, cards, her favourites were Bridge, Rummy, and Smear, and she loved a good joke or two. She loved her flowers, watching birds, the Saskatchewan Roughriders, and spending time with her special friends, the Butz family. She was a meticulous lady, even in the Nursing Home, with a great sense of humour.
