Jacob Bartole

April 10th, 1924 to December 11th, 2025

It is with great sadness the family of Jacob announce his passing in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on December 11, 2025 at the age of 101.

Jacob Jr was born to Jacob and Karen Bartole on April 10,1924 on the farm in the Buffalo Gap District. He is predeceased by his wife Irene Bartole (Dreger), parents, Jacob and Karen (nee Risdahl), sisters Irene Ayers, Dorothy Fister, Margaret King and brother Clifford Bartole. He is lovingly survived by his sisters Yvonne Gillies, Beverly Winter, Deanna Cenaiko and Sylvia Thurlow and brother George (Sandra) Bartole, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Jacob attended Prairie Center School and began farming at a young age and grew up during the 1930’s depression. Jacob had many interesting memories that he enjoyed sharing about those difficult years of hardship. After World War II, during the United States combine shortage, American farmers hired custom harvesters from Canada, so Jacob custom harvested in the USA for two years.

Jacob then continued to farm in partnership with his brother Clifford in the RM of Coronach. Jacob married Irene in 1986 and then later retired in Moose Jaw.

Private Funeral Service will be held at Ross Funeral Chapel with Interment at the Buffalo Gap Cemetery, Coronach, SK. Anette Pryce presiding. Pallbearers: Corey Thurlow, Mark Gillies, Emerson Jones, Albert Skundberg, Cameron Winter, and Lanny Winter.
