I was born May 26, 1921 at High Bluff, Manitoba. I came to the Vantage Congress District at a very young age and attended Dew Drop School. In 1940, at the age of 19, I enlisted in the CAAF Army in Saskatoon. I served in Canada, United Kingdom, Normandy D-Day, Central Mediterranean and North West Europe. I served 5 years, 1 month and 18 days in the Canadian Army, receiving an Honorable Discharge in September, 1945. Then I worked in a rubber factory in Kitchener, Ontario and in 1946 returned to the Vantage Congress District. I started farming under the Veterans Act in 1947, and farmed for 44 years. I was a R.M. councillor for 15 years, past president of Mossbank Legion as well as a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion and was also a past member of the Mossbank Elks and Masonic Lodge.
