Jean Helen Little

On Wednesday, March 4, 2026, Jean Helen Little (nee Wenaus), passed away at Assiniboia Long Term Care at age 96 with family at her side. Predeceased by husband Ian (2001), daughter Brenda Gabel (2025), an infant daughter, parents John and Elizabeth Wenaus, siblings Elizabeth, Clarice, Johnny, Cliff, Orval, Gordon, Joyce and Roy. Jean is survived by daughter Rita (Martin) Myers, son William (Norma) Little, daughter Lorna (Murray) Richardson, son-in-law Don Gabel and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jean grew up on the family farm at Verwood, SK. She attended Normal School in Moose Jaw. In 1951 she married Ian Little. They raised four children on the farm in Bengough.

She taught for many years, finishing her career as the school librarian. Jean was a gifted musician and freely offered her skills to the community, church and school.

A private family Funeral Service will be held at Ross Funeral Chapel. Pastor Chris Ulriksen officiating. Interment in the Bengough Cemetery. Donations in Memory of Jean may be made to the South Country Health Care Foundation for the Assiniboia Union Hospital for the Integrated Facility.
