Joan Schneider

Joan Schneider (Sundin) of Assiniboia, SK, passed away peacefully December 9th, 2015 at age 75. In 1958, Joan worked as an operator in Regina where she met her husband, John and they both enjoyed their time working at Sasktel. They moved to the small community of Assiniboia in 1962 to settle down and raise their family. Joan was a fantastic cook, homemaker and was talented with knitting and sewing. As she became more involved with the community she enjoyed the Kinettes, Brownies, Girl Guides, the bowling league and more. She enjoyed several years working at CIBC and when she retired, the family spent many summers at Good Spirit Lake. More recently, she treasured her time at 121 for morning coffee and card nights with the ladies. Predeceased by her husband John (2004), mother Eva Sundin (1984), and father Marvin Sundin (1982), Joan is survived by four daughters: Cathy (Paul) Tendler, Brenda Schneider, Lori Schneider (Colin Berggren), Karen Schneider (Ken Pidgurski); five grandchildren: Chris, Brett, Carly, Sarah and Kandra; siblings: Marva (Ray) Sesula, Lyle (Lois) Sundin, Della (Vivian) Hill, Vicki Sundin, Claire Sundin (Joe), Lorna (Metro) Korchinski, Leslie Sundin, Pat (Lorne) Gordon, and Freida (Bill) Ellis and numerous nieces and nephews. Celebration of Joan’s life was held at Ross Funeral Chapel, Monday, December 21st, 2015 at 1:30 pm. Pastor Terry Severson officiated. Tribute was given by daughter Brenda. Interment followed at Mount Hope Cemetery, Assiniboia, SK.
