Joyce Eileen Nelson

Joyce is predeceased by her husband Floyd, two brothers Palmer and Donald, and parents Magnus and Ella Bosman.

She is survived by her four daughters: Cheryl Harris, Wanda (Maurice) O’Reilly, Marlene Nelson (Paul Weaver) and Shawna Nelson (John Paradon); grandchildren Breanne (Tony), Dylan Harris; Amanda (Rodney), Travis (Sabrina), Brandon O’Reilly; Alisha, Mariah Nelson; great-grandchildren Doc, Nixon, Theodore, Maverick and one coming in July, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Joyce Eileen (Bosman) Nelson was born on December 12, 1941, in Coronach, SK.

She lived in the Buffalo Gap area until they moved to a farm east of Scout Lake.

Joyce attended Kabrud School, Scout Lake School and graduated from Rockglen School.

After finishing school, Joyce was employed at Prentice's south of Assiniboia.

On November 16, 1962, Joyce married Floyd Nelson. They lived and raised their family of four daughters on the Nelson farm south of Ormiston. Joyce worked for Home Care until her sight started to deteriorate. In 2010 they moved to Victoria Towers in Moose Jaw.

Joyce enjoyed cooking Norwegian dishes, baking, playing bingo, playing cards (Norwegian Whist), doing puzzles and visiting. Joyce listened to country music and Elvis Presley. At Victoria Towers she would go downstairs to play games and listen to entertainment.

Joyce loved spending time and talking on the phone with family and friends.

Funeral Service was held Friday, April 17, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Ross Funeral Chapel, Assiniboia, SK, presided by Pastor Sarah Mowat. A Tribute was given by Dallas Loken. Pallbearers were John Paradon, Maurice O’Reilly, Paul Weaver, Travis O’Reilly, Brandon O’Reilly and Dylan Harris. Interment in Wenaus Cemetery, Ormiston District, SK.
