The children of Juliette Annette Leaver (nee Gaudry) are saddened to announce her peaceful passing with family by her side on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at the Western Senior Citizen's Home in Leader, Saskatchewan. Juliette was born in St. Victor, SK. to Phillipe & Emiliana (Dionne) Gaudry on July 31, 1935, the ninth of eleven children. She took her schooling in St. Victor until moving to Assiniboia with her family. Upon completion of her schooling she began her working life at the Telephone Office in Assiniboia. She met and married Wayne Leaver of the Willows District, on June 27, 1959. Juliette & Wayne were blessed with two daughters, Wanda and Brenda; and three sons: Darren, Blayne and Gary. After the passing of Wayne's father, Harvey in 1962 they moved out to the farm, south of Willows, SK. and began farming until the farm was sold in 1974, at which time they moved into Assiniboia. Juliette began her new career at the Pioneer Lodge in Assiniboia at that time. Until her retirement in the Fall of 1998 Juliette worked at various positions at the Pioneer Lodge and Ross Payant Nursing Home. Her favorite position was in the Activities Department at the Ross Payant Nursing Home where she had a great rapport with the Residents as she guided them in the daily activities. Juliette became a Grandma for the first time in November, 1978 with a two for one bargain! She had six grandchildren in total: Amber, Ami, Barbie, Cody, Dakota and Justin. Each new wee one became her pride and joy and she relished the time she was able to spend with them. Juliette had a talent for craft work and she could both crochet and knit beautiful afghans, dishcloths and bed dolls. Many of her children and grandchildren are the recipients of much of her beautiful handiwork. She loved to read and watch television and was an avid fan of watching wrestling on television, becoming quite animated when her favorite wrestler would lose a match. She enjoyed family get togethers and viewed the time she was able to spend with family as very precious and special. After she became widowed she began another new phase in her life and moved to Fox Valley, SK. to be closer to family. She purchased a small home and enjoyed fixing it up. She enjoyed her retirement years until such time as failing health necessitated a move to her final home, the Western Senior Citizen's Home in Leader, SK. There she made friends with residents and staff alike who enjoyed her quick wit, smiles and laughter. Juliette was predeceased by her husband, Wayne Leaver; son, Gary Robert; parents, Phillipe & Emiliana Gaudry, and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by four children: Wanda Kemper, Brenda Andrie (Karry), Darren Leaver (Dene), Blayne Leaver (Tina); six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren: Amber Turton (Justin), Caleb and Nicholas; Ami Leduc (Clay); Barbara Deringer (Tony), Kyrie and Aurora; Cody Deringer (Jackie), Drayden and Breck; Dakota Leaver (Kane), Justin Vocke. Juliette is also survived by her sisters, Freida Johnstone (Wray), Lucille Piche (Albert) & brother, Abel Gaudry (Frances); in-laws: Joyce Kindt (Bob), Donna Lowes (Alan) and several nieces and nephews.
