Predeceased by her parents, Pete and Ethel Schobert, husband Gordon; brothers and sisters-in-law: Leroy Layman, Harvey Woodard, Clarence Mitchell, Wilma and Gus Vatamanuk, Grant Mitchell, Willis and Phyllis Mitchell, Lila Mitchell, Bernice Mitchell; and in-laws David and Amy Mitchell.
Kay is survived by three children: Duane (Natalie) Mitchell, Douglas Mitchell and Janet (Darrel) Marcenko; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren: Amy (Curtis) Jorgensen, daughters Maisy and Esmee; Darren (Janessa) Marcenko, son Myles; Cody (Kaitlynn) Mitchell, sons Bauer and Bennett; Amanda (Roman) Duxbury, children Brooklyn and Riley; sisters, Melva Layman and Arlene Woodard; brothers and sister-in-law, Elvin Mitchell, Lloyd Mitchell, and Joyce Mitchell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Kay’s life, was held Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 2:00 pm at the Lafleche United Church, Lafleche, SK. Reverend Janelle Shaw officiated. Maisy Jorgensen lit the Memorial Candle. Readers were Amy Jorgensen and Kaitlynn Mitchell, Tributes by Amanda Duxbury and Darren Marcenko. Urn Bearer was Doug. Private Family Interment followed at the Melaval Cemetery, Melaval, SK. Family and friends gathered after the interment at the United Church Hall. Donations in memory of Kay may be made to the Lafleche & District Health Fund Inc.
