Kathryn Caroline Burnay

Kathryn Caroline Burnay, of Assiniboia, SK, passed away December 3, 2012, in the Assiniboia Union Hospital. Kathryn (Kay) was born in Coronach, Saskatchewan on October 15, 1935. In 1953 Kay married Wilfred (Willie) Burnay and they settled on the family farm just north of Fife Lake.

Kay enjoyed curling, playing cards and cooking. Kay and Willie moved into Assiniboia in 1978 where Kay worked part-time at Stedman’s in Assiniboia. Kay enjoyed the company of her neighbours and friends.

Kay was predeceased by her husband Willie, daughters Marie, Annette and Michelle, parents James and Annie St. Jean, parents-in-law Henri and Lucie Burnay, brothers; Harold St. Jean and Marvin St. Jean, brothers-in-law, George Burnay, Emile Burnay, Roger Burnay, Rene Burnay, Richard Burnay, Roy Burnay, Alex Burnay, Frank Weisgerber, Ernie Maier; sisters-in-law, Hilda Burnay, Adeline Loucks, Lydia Weisgerber, Lena Maier and Sylvia Burnay.

Kay is survived by her sons Brian (Lorraine) and Dale (Cindy), granddaughter Jennifer (Andrew), great-grandson Aiden, brother Art St. Jean (Joan), sister Leona Johnson (Don), brothers-in-law Henri Burnay (Lois), Floyd Loucks; sisters-in-law Jean St. Jean, Irene St. Jean, Jean Menzies, Helene Burnay, Grace Burnay and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family Graveside Service was held at Christ The King Roman Catholic Cemetery, Fife Lake, SK, December 5, 2012. Father Joy Montiague officiated.
