Lorne Marshall

August 14, 1960August 30, 2019

LORNE MELVIN MARSHALL August 14, 1960-August 30, 2019; age 59 years It is with great sadness that the family of Lorne Marshall announces his passing on August 30, 2019 after losing his battle with cancer. Lorne is predeceased by his parents James and Gabrielle and two brothers, Laverne and Donnie. He is survived by brothers Marlin Marshall and Marlowe (Cindy) Marshall; his sisters, Jeanette (Eldon) Godlien, Julie Zimmerman, Karen McMartin and numerous nieces and nephews. Lorne was raised on a farm near Big Beaver, Saskatchewan and attended school there. Lorne worked various construction and fencing jobs around Saskatchewan and then moved to Wonowon, B.C. where he worked for Turner Oil and Gas for many years. Lorne did not value material things but had a love for life and enjoyed being with family and friends. Although Lorne had no children, he was a big influence in the lives of his nieces and nephews and loved spending time with them. Lorne will be remembered for his sense of humor, laughter, love for music, and his famous storytelling (over and over lol). Respecting Lorne’s wishes, he was laid to rest at the Marshall cemetery with a private family celebration of life to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lorne’s memory toward the maintenance of the Marshall cemetery in trust of Deanna Marshall-Hoffort, P.O. Box 299 Qu’Appelle, Sask, S0G 4A0. 306-535-8638. A special thank you to all of the nurses and staff at the Assiniboia Hospital for the wonderful care and kindness that was given to Lorne. Arrangements entrusted to Ross Funeral Service, Assiniboia, SK.

We will always miss uncle Lorne’s infectious laugh and smile. His energy was contagious especially when he out danced us in his moccasins. Precious memories that will last a lifetime you will be sadly missed.

I’ll never forget watching you play in a slopitch tournament in sock feet because you couldn’t run as fast in your cowboy boots,, bouncing off my uncle Robert at first base and turning a base hit into a triple...rest in peace ❤️
