It is with sadness and fond memories that we announce the passing of our mother, Margaret, who passed away peacefully on April 23, 2017 at Seton Agecare in Calgary, Alberta. Margaret was born in the town of Ogema, Saskatchewan along with her twin sister Marion Buckler on January 17, 1929 to James Hedley and Florence Jane McKague. Margaret also had a sister Dorothy Evans and a brother Stuart McKague, both who have predeceased her. Margaret was a school teacher and retired from Canada Post. She loved her volunteer work both at Calgary Food Bank and the Peter Lougheed Hospital. She was married to Harold Alvin “Chub” Breuer for 61 years. Together they raised 11 children and in retirement travelled the world and enjoyed their home, children and grandchildren. Margaret was a beloved mother to her 11 children and an attentive grandmother to her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She loved to go to their school or sports functions and cheer them along. Thursday nights were dessert nights with all who could come to visit, laugh and play cards. Her door was never locked, the keys were in the car and there was always room for one more at the dinner table. She loved cooking and entertaining. No one was ever turned away. Mom and Grandma, you will be sadly missed by your family. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Harold, and daughter Christina, she is survived by ten children: Bob, Faye, George, Loralee, Cheryl, Randy, Shannon, Twyla, Stuart, and Tim. A Celebration of Margaret’s Life was held Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Verwood Cemetery, Verwood, SK. Neil Gilbert officiated.
