Myrtle Ager, of Assiniboia, SK and formerly of the Scout Lake district, passed away peacefully June 9, 2017 at the Ross Payant Nursing Home, Assiniboia, SK. Myrtle Morna was born April 5, 1926 at the Hudson homestead, near Wood Mountain, SK to George & Morna Hudson. She grew up on the family farm and attended school in the district of Wood Mountain. She always enjoyed listening to her dad play the piano. Friends and neighbors would always come and enjoy dancing and a fun time. She worked in Toronto for four years as a waitress and also at Massey Ferguson. She returned … fell in love and married Clair Dennis Ager on August 7, 1949 at the Hudson homestead. They farmed and raised a family near Scout Lake and in the fall of 1992, they decided to retire and move to Assiniboia. Myrtle enjoyed sewing, gardening, visiting with friends and especially family. She also loved to cook and always had a meal for anyone who was passing through. She also liked to dance, play cards and she had a keen sense of humour. She always strived to look her best with hairdo and earrings intact. Myrtle had a deep love for her God Jehovah and enjoyed the ministry. Reading her Bible brought her so much comfort and joy and helped her to stay focused. She dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized alongside Clair on April 7, 1956. She loved to share her hope from the Bibles with her children, her grandchildren with anyone she met. Her love, fine example and caring attitude touched the lives of all her grandchildren, teaching them spiritual values. They will each carry these memories with them, close to their hearts, to be passed onto each of their own children. She was a legacy of love to all who knew her and will forever be missed. Myrtle was predeceased by her parents, George & Morna Hudson, her brothers Clarence and George; husband, Clair (May 5, 2010); son Allan and great-grandson Ezra Wood.
