Nick Papuc

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our much loved husband, father and grandfather, Nick Papuc, of Flintoft, SK who passed away Monday, February 12, 2018 at the age of 81. Nick was born December 10, 1936 on the family farm at Flintoft, SK. He took up farming there at a young age and enjoyed his cows, especially when they stayed in the fence. He loved to dance, fish, hunt and really enjoyed meeting up with friends for coffee, laughs and conversation at the Franklin. Nick married Donna Mirau on January 18, 1975 and they farmed until 2003. They stayed on the family farm but later Nick resided at Ross Payant Nursing Home due to his health. He loved to kid around with staff at the nursing home. Nick was predeceased by his parents George and Elena (nee Vatamaniuk); his brothers Dan, Bill, Gus, Pete and John; his sister Mary Henrikson and his infant sisters Eleanora and Virginia. He is survived by his wife Donna (Mirau); daughter Holly (Cory) Roszell; son Daniel Papuc; granddaughter Jacey Roszell; sisters Laura Catling and Margaret Skarbon; sister in-law Leaila, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Orthodox funeral service was held Friday, February 16, 2018 at 11:00 am at Ross Funeral Chapel, Assiniboia, SK. Officiating Priest Father Emmanuel Cristian Frunzulica was assisted by Cantor, Raymond Mynett. Tribute was presented by Lou Skarbon and Mike Papic. Pallbearers were: Kelly Yorga, Doug Zahariuk, Mike Papic, Lou Skarbon, Doug Stubel, and Dawson Stubel. Interment was held at St. Peter and Paul Orthodox Cemetery, Flintoft, SK.
